From Spiral to Spoon: My Pasta Cooking Quest.

I made my first spaghetti bolognaise and spiral pasta pesto today. I wrote the recipe underneath this post if you want to try it at home.

We got everything to make the two pasta dishes at the shops. I cooked the spaghetti and then we drained it. Then I opened the pasta sauce lid and my parents were surprised that I could open the lid. Then Dad poured the pasta sauce and I cooked the spaghetti, and put the seasoning in and simmered the spaghetti. Next, I opened the pesto jar and poured it on the spiral pasta and cooked it and added the seasoning. Then we cooked the spaghetti once more and enjoyed the yummy spaghetti and pesto.

Will Lionfield approve it? Or not approve it and get the cross?

The Village Tavern

Last week I went to the Golden Grove Village Tavern to eat lunch at their bistro. I’ve been there a few times, once with my friend Mason. We had lots od fun eating and playing.

First we decided where to sit and what to eat. We sat at the garden area, but inside. There was music, a person who singing and playing the guitar. They had TMNT colouring in sheets for us to colour in.

We scanned the QR code at the table and ordered what food we wanted to eat. We ordre a village supreme pizza and a kids meal (nuggets & chips, which had a frog in the pond for dessert).

While we waited, we coloured in our TMNT colouring sheets. I did a mix of all the turtles (Leo, Mikey, Raph, Donnie), which is purple, red, blue, and orange. Then when I finished I listened to the music and the food came pretty quickly.

I was so hungry. It looked yummy on the plate. I started to be full and decided not to anymore. Then I took my brother to the playground that they have inside, and also to the claw machines. Then I tried the dessert, it was the frog in the pond (a chocoloate frog in green jelly). Then took my brother to the playground for a third time!

It was time to go home and relax. I laid on my couch and read one of my books from the TTG Library. Has a shower and put my brother to bed. I got to play Spiderman on the PS5, had a little snack and then it was my bedtime.

The Village Tavern is definately a 10/10 stars to rate the restaurnat.

Fasta Pasta

On Friday I went to Fasta Pasta. I used my free kids menu voucher I got from school. I got to order everyone’s food. I got chicken tenders with chips and sauce for the kids menu and a sprite, and chips, lasagna and a salad. And a penne rosso. We ate inside the restaurant, and they served our food to us. The food tasted yummy, and it looked delicious on the plate.

My favourite part of eating at Fasta Pasta was eating the yummy food and hopefully I can work there when I’m older. There wasn’t anything about eating or going to Fasta Pasta that I didn’t like. I really liked seeing the clock inside the restaurant flipping the time over.

I would like to go back again because I like the food there and going there is fun. I also like trying out all the different food on the menu.

I would give them 5 out of 5 stars. If had to use one word to describe my meal it would be: tasty or yummy.

Cafe de Vili’s

On Sunday 16th February 2025, my family and I went to Cafe de Vili’s in Hillcrest.

Flappy (the platypus) who is one of my class mascots got to come with us, as it was my turn to take Flappy home for the weekend.

Vili’s is a super clean café that makes you feel excited when you walk in as you can see lots of yummy food behind the displays that look delicious.

I got to order the food for us all.

The staff were nice and friendly, and they smiled when I ordered my food.

I had a chunky beef pie, and a strawberry doughnut with sprinkles. Everything was really good, but my favorite was definitely the donut because it had so many sprinkles!

My little brother got a sausage roll, it was really big and he ate it all. He even had some of my donut.

While there aren’t any games or books in the café, there is an area to eat outside, which I love because I enjoy fresh air! Inside the cafe there is lots of posters on the wall that tell you all about the history of Villi’s Cafe.

We only had to wait a few minutes for our order, and it came out super fast.

I would definitely recommend this café to my friends because they have pretty good food. The best part of my visit was eating the food and deciding what dessert to get.

I can’t wait to go back again to try the schnitzel, chips and gravy, or the lasagna topping on the schnitzel!
