On 17th January 2025, I got to go see Andy and The Odd Socks for their “Are You Ready To Rock?” tour. We went to see them at the Norwood Concert Hall in Adelaide. Mum had made awesome tops for us all to wear to the Andy and the Odd Socks so we could have matching tops to the band. First, we bought the tops, then we got some cool stickers to stick on them. We were so ready to rock! When we got to the concert in Norwood, we were lucky to sit in the front row. Andy’s mum called us to say they’d be on stage in just 5 minutes, and then the lights went dark. The narrator said, “Here comes the best band in the world!”
Mac, Rio, Blu, Moxy, and finally Andy appeared! They started singing the “Andy and the Band” song, and it was so much fun. They welcomed us to South Australia, and then we heard from Emerald that the band had to deliver their album to the record studio. They thought they would have miss their gig, but Blu had a great idea to do it right there! They even had a robot named Tammy to download their songs. But they had 1 hour to download all the songs at Adelaide. The concert was amazing with hits like “Spooky” and “Great Hair Day”!
I was super excited to see Andy and the Odd Socks live! They played my favorite song, “Spooky,” and I felt a rush of excitement when the band first came on stage. Meeting the band afterwards was one of the best parts of the day!
One of the funniest moments was when Andy threw his underpants on stage after trying Mac’s new shampoo. It was hilarious! I sang along to all the songs, and the other kids around me were cheering and full of energy. We even got to get up close to the band, which made the concert even more fun.
I loved the band’s costumes, and I was wearing one just like them! I would definitely want to see them in concert again. If I could ask the band one question, it would be, “Can I spend the day with you?” I would rate the concert a perfect 10/10!
During the show, there were also some cool dinosaur facts and a funny segment about who would be the soccer dinosaur. When the band wasn’t playing, I enjoyed the silly moments like Andy trying Mac’s shampoo, throwing his underpants, and Mac’s invention that teleported back in time called “Back to the Hoover.”
I think all kids should watch Andy and the band the next time they tour Adelaide; it was fantastic! My Mum and Dad said it was the best concert they had ever been to. If I could change one thing, I wish I could have been on stage with them. Dressing up as a dinosaur would have been so much fun!
Meeting the band after the concert was amazing! I felt a bit shy walking up to Andy, but he and the rest of the band were super nice. They sat down with us, talked for a long time, and took photos. I was really surprised they did that!
You can watch their tv series on ABC & ABC iView. They have an awesome website: andyandtheoddsocks.com
